Numeracy (Maths)
Delivered through the National Numeracy Strategy, a broad and balanced development of effective mental arithmetic skills is promoted within the key areas of:
• Number
• Shape
• Space and Measure
• Date Handling
Children will focus on mental skills before moving on to a key learning objective that is consolidated through activities differentiated to take account of individual needs. While acquiring this vitally important skill, we aim to develop enjoyment in mathematics and provide children with opportunities to experience the thrill of investigating calculation.
