We are looking to appoint one part time member of support staff to cover two roles within the school from 8th November 2021.
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Midday Supervisor Assistant and Teaching Assistant to complement our hardworking team. We are looking for a staff member who has experience and/or will be keen to develop their skills. You should be able to offer us enthusiasm, commitment and a passion for working in a school.
We are a busy and successful school with highly talented staff who are committed to achieving the very best outcomes for our children. We work together closely to achieve those outcomes for our children and support each other to ensure we all perform to the best of our abilities.
The successful candidate needs to display excellent organisational skills and be able to work both on their own initiative and take instruction.
They must be a very good team player and possess good reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills. (The postholder should have minimum of a GCSE grade C in Maths and English or equivalent). Patience, positivity, discretion, flexibility, consistency, creativity and an ability to build relationships with children, teachers and parents are key skills.
The two individual posts will have two different contracts and be paid accordingly:
Teaching Assistant - this post is part time 8.55am - 12.00pm helping in class, carrying out playground duties and implementing intervention activities under the guidance of the line manager. This post is fixed term. Grade 3 SCP 8-12 £9.43 - £9.81 per hour.
Midday Supervisor - this post is part time and starts at 12.00pm until 1.15pm. This will entail supervising pupils in the lunch hall and on the playground. This post is fixed term. Grade 1 £9.25 per hour
The postholder will be expected to carry out mid morning playground duties.
Safeguarding our pupils is of utmost importance to us. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Check. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.
The school is part of the Sherborne Area Schools’ Multi Academy Trust which is the employer. The support staff post is term time only. The successful candidate will be expected to attend one statutory INSET day as part of their role and undertake additional training.
