Dear Parents and Carers

CHANGES TO THE WAY CONTACT TRACING OPERATES IN SCHOOLS POST 19th JULY

I am writing to give you another update about the way Contact Tracing will work post 19th July. Unfortunately, there has been some miscommunication from Public Health so I write to clarify the situation moving forward.

Schools have, alongside Public Health, been responsible for track, trace and isolation, in relation to Covid cases.

Starting today, this role will be taken on solely by the NHS Track and Trace. I would urge you to still continue informing us about positive cases, however the response and contact isolations will be directed by NHS Track and Trace. We will no longer be responsible for requiring bubbles of children to isolate.

I have attached two documents which we recently received which will hopefully give you some clarity about how this will operate going forward.

Contacts who have been asked to isolate before the change in system on last night will need to continue to do so.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents, children and staff for your support throughout this pandemic in what has been a difficult time for all of us.

We anticipate normal operations being resumed in September but please be advised that we have been told to make preparations for reintroduction of short term bubbles next year in case of a wider outbreak in school.

Yours sincerely

Emma Grunnill
