School aims
We started our spirituality day by jumping into a picture of the 'Nativity' by Previtali.
The children were invited to identify the characters in the scene and say how they knew. They then suggested some questions they would ask of the people in the picture:
'Why were you the chosen one Mary?' 'Where will you go?' 'What is the baby's name?' 'How did you know you were having a baby?' 'Is the baby special?'
We then watched a short film about the first christmas and the nativity story before the children went back to class to explore the story in creative ways.
