Admissions

St Mary's is a Church of England School and part of the Sherborne Area Schools' Trust (SAST Multi Academy Trust). There is a set criteria for admissions detailed in the SAST Admissions Policy Admissions are still handled by the Local Authority on SAST's behalf.  Prospective parents will be signposted to Dorset Admissions on http://www.dorsetforyou.com/schooladmissions where they will be able to apply for places. Please read the Parents' Guide here.  You may need to complete a Supplementary Information form which can be downloaded here.

St Mary's has a Pupil Admission Number (PAN) of 17 in each year group. Some year groups are oversubscribed - this can occur if a family move into our catchement area during the year. Class structures and sizes invariably change year on year - most classes are split ages.It should be noted it is St Mary's School policy that all children entering school at four years plus do so on a part-time basis with full-time attendance usually taking place approximately a week into the Autumn term (depending on the start of the year). If a child is not yet ready for full-time attendance at that point, then, at the discretion of the Headteacher and after taking into account the individual needs of the child plus discussion with parents, other arrangements can be put in place.
